Music Ministry
Next to the word of God, the noble art of music is the greatest treasure in the world.
Beautiful music is the art of the prophets that can calm the agitations of the soul, it is one of the most magnificent and delightful presents God has given us.
My heart, which is so full to overflowing, has often been solaced and refreshed by music when sick and weary.
As long as we live, there is never enough singing.
– Martin Luther
We are blessed with incredibly talented and dedicated musicians who volunteer their time and talent to help move our hearts and minds as we worship.
Please join in the great musical tradition that we have here at McFarland Lutheran Church.
There are many ways for you to be involved.

The McFarland Lutheran Church Handbell Choir rehearses every Wednesday evening at 6:15 pm. We play every other week at the 8 am Sunday service between Labor Day and Memorial Day. Musicians need to have an understanding of music notation. Handbell ringing is a lot of fun and a very rewarding way to participate in the long music tradition here at McFarland Lutheran Church. We encourage all who are interested to join us!
Wind Ensemble
Several times a year we gather instrumental musicians to provide music during our services. Music is chosen with non-professional musicians in mind. If you have played an instrument (or currently play an instrument) please join us! We have musicians from Middle School age on.
Saturday Cantors
Our 5 pm Saturday evening service now has a regular group of cantors. They volunteer their musical gifts on Saturday afternoons to provide musical leadership during this service. We encourage anyone who is interested in cantoring to contact Christopher Malueg.
Summer Special Music
During the summer we have a very active Summer Special Music series featuring a broad spectrum of musicians at McFarland Lutheran Church. All ages and all styles are encouraged to participate: instrumental, vocal, solos, duets, trios, quartets, etc. This is a great opportunity for young and old musicians alike to play in a comfortable, no-pressure setting. Students, children, and adults could play a piece they have learned. All skill levels are welcome! Please consider offering your musical gift with us during the summer!
McFarland Lutheran Church should be very proud of its volunteer musicians and generous use of differing musical styles.
Each of our services offers a unique musical “flavor” for worship.
We are very blessed to have these wonderful musicians to help lead our singing or provide a song, an anthem or hymn for meditation.
